Grade Grades 7 to 10. Syllabus The syllabus used is based on a typical IGCSE syllabuses for the three sciences. Activity Courses All the science courses have a variety of activities:
The strategies integrated into the courses were developed by cognitive scientists from various universities in the U.S.A.
They call themselves The Learning Scientists, this is how they introduce themselves: “We are cognitive psychological scientists interested in research on education. Our main research focus is on the science of learning. (Hence, “The Learning Scientists”!)”
A number of thinking routines are introduced during the courses. These are based on the Project Zero’s Thinking Routine Toolbox developed by Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.
The experiments and models section is based on a syllabus I developed using the Concord Consortium as a source.
The courses consist of experiments and data analysis using simulations, for example from PHET, NetLogo, Concord and other sources. For the modelling I use the Sagemodeller from the Concord Consortium. For the data analysis I use the Common Online Data Analysis Platform CODAP.
